For over 40 years, Nacogdoches Medical Center’s commitment to quality has set the pace for outstanding achievements in quality care and patient satisfaction. For more than five years in a row, Nacogdoches Daily Sentinel Readers voted Medical Center the “Best Hospital”, “Best ER”, and “Best Place to Have a Baby” in 2014. The 150 physicians on staff and the 400 employees at NMC make it their mission, every day, to improve the quality of care and the health of their community. Their focus on service, care and quality has earned the respect and trust of the community they serve, and have received the only grade of an A from Leapfrog a national independent hospital watchdog for patient safety.
NMC’s Imaging and Cancer Center offers some of the latest digital imaging equipment, providing high quality diagnostic studies while offering shorter and less invasive exams. The Cancer Center at NMC provides targeted IMRT therapy treatments that precisely targets cancer cells without harming surrounding tissue.
NMC operates two full service Emergency Rooms, one at their main campus in Nacogdoches and an off-campus department in Center, Texas. They have recently applied for Chest Pain Accreditation through The Joint Commission, again, demonstrating outstanding heart attack care and consistent quality improvements.
The Imaging Center of Nacogdoches, located adjacent to the hospital campus, offers a convenient alternative for outpatient imaging. Featuring the only open MRI in Nacogdoches County, a 32-slice CT, ultrasound and x-ray services with same day appointments.
The Women’s Center at NMC offers quality services at every stage of life, from prenatal care and basic infant care to parenting and digital mammography. NMC is very excited
about its comprehensive Breast Care Center, featuring a spa-like environment to provide a relaxing atmosphere while caring for a wide range of women’s needs. In late 2015, NMC started construction for Nacogdoches’ first Level II NICU, with plans to be open in early 2016.
NMC’s outpatient services include a wound care center that offers a specialized approach to the treatment of chronic wounds and the first hospital-based infusion center in the area, overseen by Nacogdoches’ first board-certified rheumatologist. In December, NMC opened a MedPost Urgent Care Center. This extended hours, walk-in clinic provides quality care in an easily accessible location.
NMC constantly strives to provide quality patient care, comfort and the convenience of “Big City Medicine, Right Here at Home.”
