Education Committee

Chair Erin Windham, Nacogdoches ISD

Education programs administered by the Nacogdoches County Chamber Foundation, enhance the quality of life for individuals of Nacogdoches County by linking business, education, economic development and the community to support leadership, academic growth and workforce readiness.

Projects include:

  • N.O.B.L.E. Scholars/Scholarship Program

Leadership Nacogdoches
Co-Chairs Paul Smith III,  Principal Financial Group and Charlotte Ashcraft, Commercial Bank of Texas
This nine-month training is a Nacogdoches County Chamber Foundation program that develops new leaders in our community. Participants learn about the driving forces and services in Nacogdoches while developing personal strengths and valuable skills. Click for more information.

SFA-Chamber Connection
Chair Brent McLemore, SFA Center for Professional and Continuing Education. This committee develops contacts at SFA that can be used as resources for the business community, lead Chamber efforts in helping SFA recruit students and help businesses reach faculty, staff, students and parents as potential customers.

Business Development Series
Chair Dr. Jason Reese, Nelson Rusche College of Business, Stephen F. Austin State University
Provides resources, trainings, workshops and access to experts so small business owners stay informed and able to operate competitively. The Business Development Series assists in educating businesses on current best practices, providing opportunities for professional development and delivering up-to-date information on relevant topics.

Accreditation
The Nacogdoches County Chamber of Commerce was reaccreditated as a 4-star chamber by the U.S. Chamber of Commerce in 2024. Accredtation with the U.S. Chamber defines excellence in the industry.
