Volunteers are needed to be a Reading Buddy for children this summer at the Judy B. McDonald Public Library. Reading Buddies will help children practice their reading fluency and comprehension skills. “No special skills are needed to be a volunteer. All that’s needed is an enthusiasm for reading and a desire to motivate and encourage children to love reading,” said Mercedes Franks, library director.

Volunteer applications can be picked up at the public library. The Reading Buddies sessions will be Mondays from 3:00-4:00 p.m. and Thursdays from 6:00-7:00 p.m. Please contact Mercedes Franks at 559-2970 for more information.
