NACOGDOCHES/LUFKIN — PineyWoods Pediatrics, P.A. is joining forces with Project SOS (Supply Our Schools) to serve as a collection point for school supplies that will be delivered directly to children in need through schools throughout Nacogdoches County.
"We're here to raise healthy kids in our community and education is a big part of that," said Dr. Amy Huggins of PineyWoods Pediatrics. "We're proud to offer PineyWoods Pediatrics as a collection site. We support the Project SOS mission to help supply students with the classroom tools they need to be successful."
Pineywoods Pediatrics will be accepting donations during office hours at 3614 N. University Drive through Saturday, August 15. Items needed include loose-leaf notebook paper, spiral notebooks, colored and regular pencils, pencil boxes, pocket folders, pens, crayons, glue sticks, composition notebooks, tissues, backpacks, scissors, erasers, washable markers, watercolor paints, dry erase markers, and hand sanitizer.
Project SOS (Supply Our Schools) has been working to benefit Nacogdoches school children for more than 20 years and hosts the only drive that coordinates with all of our county's local campuses. Those needing assistance should contact their Nacogdoches area school counselor or principal.
