We wanted to make you aware of a series of upcoming meetings to be held at seven locations throughout the state where officials from the Texas Workforce Commission (TWC) and the Department of Assistive and Rehabilitative Services (DARS) will be seeking input for the preparation of a combined state plan for core workforce programs governed by the federal Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA).
The meetings will also provide the public the opportunity to make recommendations related to the transfer of some DARS programs to TWC effective Sept. 1, 2016. Those programs include: Vocational Rehabilitation, Business Enterprises of Texas and Independent Living for Older Individuals Who are Blind.
Because we value our partnership with you for local workforce development, we would love to see you in attendance at these meetings and hear your thoughts and ideas related to these important workforce issues.
More information about the meetings can be found on our website on the WIOA State Plan/DARS Transition Meetings Web page. We would also appreciate it if you would share the information about the meetings on your websites. You are welcome to share our press release with those in your community or on your websites.
Thank you!
