The Judy B. McDonald Public Library is excited to host the Third Annual How-To Festival at the library on Saturday, March 5, 2016 from noon to 4:00 p.m. 

The library is now accepting proposals for presenters to demonstrate a skill, talent, or project or to have an information table.  Some examples of presentations from last year’s event include how to screen print a t-shirt, how to play chess, how to identify poisonous snakes, how to hula hoop, how to keep bees, and much more. 

“People in this community have so much knowledge to offer,” says Crystal Hicks, assistant library director. “We want to get people together – those who have a skill or talent with those who want to learn something new.  In past years, we have seen a strong sense of communal interest and curiosity that we love to foster.” 

Individuals, groups and businesses are all welcome to present in a mini-session of 15 minutes to one hour.  

“Everyone has hidden talents, and no talent is insignificant,” says Mercedes Franks, library director.  “We look forward to even more community participation this year and encourage anyone to join us in sharing our talents, skills and know-how. 

There’s really something for everyone and all ages.”
