The Judy B. McDonald Public Library is celebrating National Poetry Month with the Fourth Annual Poetry Contest. Entries are being accepted now until April 15, 2016 in 3 categories: Junior High, High School, and Adult. The contest is open to anyone residing in Nacogdoches County. Each individual may submit one (1) poem. Entries may be on any subject matter, but must be suitable for a general audience, original, and not previously published. First, second, and third places will be awarded in each category. Copies of the poetry booklet with entries will be presented to each entrant. The library reserves the right to print, in whole or in part, any entry in the contest. Entries will not be returned, so please copy your work before submitting it to the library.

Winners will be notified by phone or email and all poets are welcome to read their work at the Poetry Month Contest Recital on Monday, April 28th at 6:00 p.m. in the library. For more information, contact library staff at 936-559-2970.
