The African American Heritage Project (AAHP) will sponsor a Barbecue Fundraiser on Saturday, October 1, 2016 in support of its ongoing project to restore the historic Clay House in the Zion Hill Historic District.
The AAHP will serve mixed plates of barbeque and sides from noon - 2 p.m. on the grounds of the Clay House, located at 720 Bois d’Arc Street, adjacent to the Oak Grove Cemetery and the original Zion Hill Baptist Church on Lanana Street.
Tickets cost $10.00 each and can be purchased through any AAHP board member of the following sponsors: Zion Hill Baptist Church, Austin Heights Baptist Church, the Iron Wheel Baptist Church, the First Methodist Church, Scott’s Temple Baptist Church and Tenet Health. Additional Sponsors include Tenet Healthcare. 
Proceeds from the fundraiser will be used to paint the exterior and begin rebuilding the porch that had been orginal to the house.
