NACOGDOCHES, November 7, 2016 - Nacogdoches ISD's Annual Toy and Bike Drive continues! This year, NISD's goal is to collect over 150 bicycles.
NISD in collaboration with Toys for Tots are collecting NEW bicycles to distribute to children in need throughout Nacogdoches County.
The bicycles, unwrapped toys and cash donations can be dropped off at 420 South Shawnee Street. Please make checks payable to NISD Dragon Community Partners. All monies collected will be used to purchase new bicycles and/or bicycle safety gear.
Bicycles, unwrapped toys and/or money donations will be collected until December 14, 2016.
NISD is giving in more ways than one this holiday season! NISD's three main focuses on giving to the community this year are collecting donated bicycles and toys for Toys for Tots, bell ringing and participating in Love Inc.'s Shared Blessing event. Give The Salvation Army of Nacogdoches a call at 936-568-0900 to sign up to become a Bell Ringer. The bell ringing reason begins in November and continues until Christmas Eve. Volunteering to ring a bell can help provide families in need with a couple bags of groceries and more.
Consider joining Love Inc. on December 15 for Christmas Shared Blessings! Love Inc. serves about 300+ families at their annual Christmas Shared Blessings event. Approved parents come and shop in Love Inc.'s 'Store' at the expo center on December 15. They serve children from ages infant to 12 years old. Love Inc. encourages everyone to collect gifts and serve December 15. Money donations are also accepted.
