A large number of visitors are expected on campus tomorrow morning for the ESPN 24-Hours of Basketball Marathon event, featuring the SFA Lumberjacks. To ensure the safety of students, SFA employees and our guests, East College Street will be closed to traffic from University Drive to Wilson Drive beginning at 7 a.m.
Based on attendance at the 2014 ESPN game, it is anticipated that attendance will exceed 7,000 guests. In addition to attendees from the university and community, the university has invited approximately 2,500 public school children to attend. School buses will be allowed to turn onto East College Street for unloading at the bridge and parking in the Hall 20 parking lot.
Game time is set for 10 a.m., and the event will be broadcast on ESPN2. After the game, the street will reopen when traffic patterns allow.
For more information about parking, call (936) 468-2608.
