Nacogdoches Farmers Market Newsletter for Saturday, December 10
Posted 12/08/2016

Thank you to all who came out to a very wet and cold market last Saturday.  We appreciate our committed customers and vendors very much!!
Saturday, December 10th... is looking a lot better than last week. It should be a little warmer and a LOT drier. JoJo plans to be out serving up his fabulous Philipino BBQ.  Cindy Grayson will play if it warms up enough. Remember for our musicians it is not about comfort... they really can't play if their fingers are too cold. We are expecting OVER 20 vendors... so come out and do your grocery shopping, pick up special items for holiday gatherings... and do some gift shoppinig too. SHOP LOCAL at the Nacogdoches Farmers Market.
8:00AM- Noon!! 107 Pearl Street
We have a BIG announcement this week.
In an effort to better serve our community... as of Saturday, December 10th... the Nacogdoches Farmers Market will begin accepting SNAP (Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program). The South Side Nacogdoches Fire Department will be assisting us with this at the Welcome Center. Bring your card to the Welcome Center and use it to get tokens to be spent at the Nac Farmers Market... then look for the BRIGHT ORANGE signs posted on individual booths announcing that vendor accepts SNAP tokens. There will be flyers and signs helping to explain what items are SNAP eligible.

Farmers Markets are about more than food, more than farmers, more than *buy local*. Farmers markets are about building communities and building relationships. They are about looking each other in the eye. They are about people more than product. Farmers markets help tear down barriers and build relationships. They give a community... heart. Lynn Jones

Music: We are actively seeking musicians!!!
We are actively seeking musicians!!!
Play folk, country, acoustic?
Fine with being paid in cash AND eggs?
The Nacogdoches Farmer's Market is seeking acoustic musicians to perform at our Saturday AND Wednesday markets. Compensation comes in the form of tips from both customers and the market vendors as well as a SMALL stipend from the market that will hopefully increase with time. The market is busy all year round and is also advertising itself, so if you are looking for a fun place to meet new folks, play some tunes, and walk away with a fistful of dollars and some garden fresh food and more, please reply and join our family... nacogdochesfarmersmarket@gmail.com
