As a part of the City of Nacogdoches Discussion Series, a public meeting was held April 17, 2017, to revise the current food truck ordinance based on feedback gathered at the community lunch held April 7, 2017.This event helped gather feedback from the community about their thoughts and ideas on food trucks in Nacogdoches.
The previous meeting yielded an overwhelming amount of support to revise the current ordinance over food trucks in Nacogdoches. "I believe that food trucks should be allowed in the City of Nacogdoches because it can be a great contributor to our local economy. Food trucks would become a great asset in our community!," one resident said when surveyed.
We feel it is very important to hear the opinions of business owners within the community as well. This feedback will help us determine what the needs of the business owners downtown are to better accommodate everyone and make the best impact with the new ordinance.
The current ordinance draft allows for DOWNTOWN setup and parking. It does NOT allow for parking within 100 feet of an open and operating restaurant. Since you are involved, I'd love to get your feedback or come by to visit with you on your thoughts/ideas/concerns.
