The Texas Department of Transportation is about to start the second round of public engagement as we update the Texas Freight Mobility Plan. TxDOT will be conducting 11 Regional Workshops across the state to get feedback from public and private sector stakeholders. Texarkana’s agricultural and industrial industries, and its export activities are critical in understanding freight congestion throughout the state. Input from freight and logistic stakeholders will help inform TxDOT of the transportation needs, challenges, projects, recommendations, and how the region will meet its growing demand.
We will also share comments received during the first round of public engagement and ask stakeholders how we should prioritize projects. We are looking for representation from air cargo, shippers, receivers, rail, ports, trucking, energy manufacturing, retail agriculture, pipelines, freight forwarders, transporters, anyone or organizations involved in freight movement, and the general public throughout the state. Please register to the workshop and if you are unable to attend, please feel free to register to an alternate workshop that represents you.
Each workshop is scheduled from 8:30 am to 11:00 am. The sessions will begin on June 6 and end on June 29, 2017.
