Keep Nacogdoches Beautiful announced G Patterson Photography Studio as a winner of the 2017 Landscape Leadership Award during a recent Alive After Five hosted by Harry's Building Supply. The Landscape Leadership Award is a quarterly award that recognizes the efforts and leadership of businesses in Nacogdoches that beautify their community. A full list of award winners and a nomination form can be found at www.keepnacbeautiful.org/awards.
G Patterson Photography Studio is located in downtown Nacogdoches at 122 N Mound Street and was recognized for their extensive garden that was recently featured during the Garden Capital of Texas Garden Tours. "We can't really take the credit," said Greg Patterson, owner. "My in-laws are the ones that put most of the work into the garden."
The Pattersons are also sponsors of Keep Nacogdoches Beautiful, donating time to produce professional photos of the Keep Nacogdoches Beautiful team of directors and possibly photographing future Keep Nacogdoches Beautiful events. "The Pattersons display individual responsibility by providing a beautiful environment at their business and reaching out to support Keep Nacogdoches Beautiful in a very unique way," said Katie Blevins, Keep Nacogdoches Beautiful Executive Director. "This kind of support helps maintain a clean, green community in Nacogdoches."
Nacogdoches city and county residents may nominate any business located within the Nacogdoches city limits. Deadlines for submission are March 15 for spring submissions, May 15 for summer submissions, October 1 for fall submissions and November 15 for winter submissions. Special consideration may be given for use of fantastic color and native plants, as well as emphasis on water conservation and pollinator garden features. The landscape leadership recognition program is an initiative of Keep Nacogdoches Beautiful and The Garden Capital of Texas Committee.
