PHOTO: The Texas Forestry Museum's mission is to collect, preserve, exhibit and interpret objects, papers and photographs which pertain to the natural and cultural history of the people, places, and products and benefits associated with the forest, forestry and related professions, and the forest related industries in the state of Texas. The education of the public, from pre-school through senior adult, about the heritage of forestry and sound forestry practices in Texas is a priority of the museum.
We are proud to support the Texas Forestry Museum and present them with a grant to help their cause! Thank you for serving our community! #JLL #ThankfulThursday #community

Junior League of Lufkin Grant and Scholarship Recipients
The Junior League of Lufkin has wrapped up another year of raising funds for Angelina County, and we were pleased to offer a portion of these funds to qualified organizations.   The JLL earns funds through community fundraising events:  Second Chance Rummage Sale, Little Black Dress Initiative, Touch-A-Truck, Raffle, and Helping Hands.
This past year, the Junior League of Lufkin was proud to support the following projects and organizations:  Family Crisis Center, Angelina County Child Welfare Board, Pregnancy Help Center, Temple Memorial Library, Lufkin Adult Learning Center, Concerned Black Men, Habitat for Humanity, Lufkin Ambucs, Texas Forestry Museum, and Angelina County & Cities Health District.  The following graduating high school seniors received scholarships:  Jasmine Chae from Hudson H.S., Taylor Fennell from Hudson H.S., Haley McGaughey from Central H.S., Myrka Lila from Lufkin H.S., and Andrew Estrada from Diboll H.S.
The Junior League of Lufkin is an organization of women committed to promoting volunteerism and to improving the community through the effective action and leadership of trained volunteers.  Its purpose is exclusively educational and charitable.  The League’s vision is to enhance the lives of children and women in the community through diverse projects and fundraising efforts.
