The Chamber's current and incoming board of directors met on July 30 in a retreat to map out the strategic plan for 2019-2020. Strategic goals were identified and will be the focus of the group in their program of Chamber work.
Chairman Elect Claire Robbins presented her theme during her leadership year: Fellowship, Fun and Forward Thinking into the Chamber's Next Century.
Fellowship: the board of directors are a group that meet with a common purpose and "like mindedness;"
Fun: life is short and the directors have a lot to accomplish in a short time. May as well have fun!'
Forward Thinking: have "business agility" to respond quickly for the best returns and rewards for our business community;
Into the Chamber's Next Century: the Nacogdoches County Chamber celebrates its 100-year anniversary in 2019, and 2020 will be the start of a new Chamber era.
The retreat was held at SFA's Piney Woods Native Plant Center meeting room and facilitated by Dr. Adam Peck.
