The National Weather Service is forecasting severe weather for late Friday and early Saturday:
A deep upper level trough and strong cold front will begin moving into the Southern Plains during the day Friday. Ahead of these features, the threat of severe thunderstorms will increase on Friday afternoon and especially Friday night into the predawn hours Saturday morning.
A Moderate Risk of severe thunderstorms covers a small portion of our county while the remainder of the county is included in an Enhanced Risk (see graphics).
Please also pay attention to local news and the radar as the day continues, into the evening.
It is highly important to stay informed during severe weather. If you must travel, do not cross roads covered with water, be overly-cautious, and follow all signage.
