NACOGDOCHES, TX, March 11, 2020 – Community leaders recently met at the Nacogdoches County Chamber of Commerce and discussed current activities and plans of action in their respective organizations concerning the coronavirus (COVID-19).
The following unified statement was generated with input by Nacogdoches County Judge Greg Sowell and representatives of The City of Nacogdoches, Nacogdoches Convention and Visitors Bureau, Nacogdoches Economic Development Corporation, Nacogdoches Memorial Health, NMC Health Network, Nacogdoches Area United Way, Texas Forest Country Partnership and the Nacogdoches County Chamber of Commerce:
Nacogdoches County leaders are continuously monitoring the COVID-19 situation and have coordinated protocols in place to respond should the virus affect our area. We recommend following the Centers for Disease Control’s (CDC) guidelines of:
- wash your hands frequently with soap and water for at least 20 seconds at a time;
- stay home when you are sick;
- avoid touching your eyes, nose, and mouth;
- cover your mouth and nose with a tissue or elbow when coughing or sneezing.
