NACOGDOCHES, TEXAS--  C. L. Simon Recreation Center will reopen on Monday, July 6th, 2020 at 12:00 PM.

The Recreation Center closed on June 24th due to employee exposure to COVID-19. As a precautionary measure, all affected employees were tested and the entire facility was cleaned and sanitized. Happily, all test results were negative and staff is ready to resume the limited hours and reduced programming offered since June 1st. The Recreation Center is now open Monday through Friday from 12:00 to 6:00 PM.

Beginning Monday, July 6th, park pavilions may be reserved in person or over the phone with in-person payment required in full within seven (7) days. As of June 26, 2020, the state of Texas mandates that the county judge or mayor must give approval for events with an estimated attendance of 100 or more. We ask that our patrons avoid groups larger than 10 individuals, continue to practice social distancing of six feet or more, wear a face covering or mask, and wash or sanitize hands frequently. Please stay home if you have new or worsening symptoms of possible COVID-19, including but not limited to a cough, difficulty breathing, or a fever.

COVID-19 has changed and will continue to change how businesses, museums, city departments, and gyms operate. Patrons should expect changes in how recreation services are offered. Hours of operation and access to the Recreation Center may change on the advice of health officials.
