Why Your Company Should Become a 2020 Census Partner
CALLING ALL LOCAL BUSINESSES AND COMMUNITY LEADERS!!! The Nacogdoches County Chamber of Commerce is challenging YOU to help us make Nacogdoches Count with the 2020 Census! The deadline for responding to Census is September 30th!
We only have a few weeks left to get an accurate count for our community, and The Chamber wants to partner with you to get the word out to clients, customers, and employees.
Census data plays a vital role in guiding business decisions and funding. Currently, thousands of Nacogdochians have not responded to the 2020 Census. This means our community is missing out on valuable information and funding needed to thrive for the next decade. The 2020 Census’ detailed demographic information holds exceptional value for our local businesses—they help inform your decisions to expand, develop products, market, hire, mitigate risk, and increase return on investment.
You can use your voice, platform, and network to promote the census. With your help, we will increase the self-response rate in Nacogdoches. We want to give you the resources you need to help ensure a complete and accurate 2020 Census that will inform vital government decisions and drive your company’s decisions.

The link includes messaging and customizable social media posts, posters, e-mails and digital web banners, and newsletter content as well as other content options that you can use to make it easy to help. Here are some examples:
- Include information about the 2020 Census in correspondence with customers (e-mails, bills, a Web site banner).
- Provide a link to the 2020 Census on your Web site.
- Launch text message campaigns to promote the 2020 Census.
- Launch social media campaigns or host Twitter chats or Facebook Live events on 2020 Census to educate customers and employees.
- Post and distribute 2020 Census materials on privacy and confidentiality to employees, constituents, and customers, both in hard copy and through online channels.
- Include an incentive to your customers in their purchases to complete the 2020 Census.
Remember, you can still complete the questionnaire yourself online at 2020census.gov, by calling 844-330-2020, or by returning the paper form you received in the mail.
