Texas leaders hope rapid testing will restore normalcy in the pandemic

In a sit-down with the Texas Tribune, TAB's COO Aaron Cox discussed Governor Abbott's announcement that Texas will receive millions of rapid COVID-19 tests monthly. Each test delivers results in as little as 15 minutes. Cox focused on the importance of testing, emphasizing that rapid results will increase Texans' ability to safely patronize businesses, return to work, and attend school, all of which would stimulate economic recovery. How to watch the vice presidential debate between Senator Kamala Harris and Vice President Mike Pence Wednesday, October 7,

Vice President Pence and Senator Harris will meet in Salt Lake City, Utah for their only debate. It will be moderated by Susan Page of USA Today. Early voting begins next week

Texas voters can begin casting their ballots at the polls next week. The early voting period runs from Tuesday, October 13, 2020 to Friday, October 30, 2020, but hours may vary based on where you live. To find a poll location near you, click here.

McConnell delays Senate’s return as a third Senator falls ill Saturday,

Senator Mitch McConnell said that the Senate will not meet as planned next Monday after three senators tested positive for COVID-19. This news comes despite plans to confirm Judge Amy Coney Barrett to the Supreme Court by November 3. Regardless, Senator McConnell is still confident that the confirmation process will not be deterred, saying “the Senate’s floor schedule will not interrupt the thorough, fair and historically supported confirmation process previously laid out.” To read more, click here.
