Angelina Arts Announces New "Arts Alive Series"

Lufkin, TX: Having recently announced that the remaining 2020-2021 Temple Theater Performing Arts Season has been postponed to next season, Angelina Arts is pleased to announce the Arts Alive Series. With continued dedication to bringing live entertainment to East Texas, Angelina Arts will present the series in a socially distanced way in the Temple Theater. Tickets to the Arts Alive Series will go on sale at 11 AM on Monday, December 14 and can be purchased online at AngelinaArts.org or by calling 936-633-5454. Additional performances may be added to the series at a later time. All performances are single tickets only. No subscription sales.

“More than ever, the arts are essential to our community, to our economy and to our well-being. So, we are thrilled to be able to present a series of high quality, live performances at the Temple Theater and around the community which keeps the arts alive and continues our mission to better the place we call home,” said Jennifer Allen, Executive Director of the Angelina Arts Alliance.

As with the other performances that have recently been presented, this new series will be a socially distanced seated event. All current state mandates for social distance seating and policies set forth by Angelina College will be followed. Masks are required while entering the building, during the performance and while exiting the building.

The Off-Broadway hit comedy Men Are From Mars – Women Are From Venus LIVE!, is a one-man fusion of theatre and stand-up, and is a light-hearted theatrical comedy based on the New York Times #1 best-selling book of the last decade by John Gray. Moving swiftly through a series of vignettes, the show covers everything from dating and marriage to the bedroom.

An Evening with C.S. Lewis – starring David Payne – is a captivating evening in 1963 where C.S. Lewis hosts a group of American writers at his home near Oxford. Throughout the evening he recalls the people and events that inspired his thought and shaped his life; of his friendship with J.R.R. Tolkien; why he nearly abandoned the Narnia Chronicles; how he came to embrace Christianity and of the American woman who turned his life upside down.

MONTOPOLIS: THE LEGEND OF BIG BEND

Montopolis turns west Texas tales into song in this concert inspired by Big Bend National Park. The performance weaves history, poetry and personal stories into music inspired by the land and the people that have walked upon it. Actor Jared Austin narrates the journey accompanied by music and breathtaking photography that captures the epic grandeur of the vast high desert wilderness.

The Angelina Arts Alliance is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization whose mission is to enrich, entertain and educate by presenting and promoting the arts in East Texas.
