NACOGDOCHES, TX - The City of Nacogdoches is excited to commence a comprehensive planning process which will result in the development of a new City Comprehensive Plan and Downtown Master Plan. These plans will be tools, utilized by the community, to guide future growth in an appropriate and desired manner and improve the quality of life of local residents. They will help plan for measured growth throughout the years ahead and guide our city on much needed improvements while also keeping the small town charm we all love.
The City of Nacogdoches will host two public forums the first week of June explaining how this process will work going forward. You can expect to hear the purpose for initiating these plans, why we need them, and where we currently are in the planning process from our City leaders and staff.
Community members that attend will be given the opportunity to ask questions regarding these studies. Comprehensive planning is a community lead process, and we are eager to kick off that process with you! The Public Forums will be on June 7th at 6:00pm at Commercial Bank of Texas – Downtown Branch located at 215 East Main Street and June 8th at6:00 pm at the C.L. Simon Recreation Center located at 1112 North Street.
More opportunities will become available at a later date to help City leaders and staff gather specific needs and feedback from the community. A sign-up sheet will be available so that residents can opt-in to receiving future email communications regarding these two important studies.
