CHHAY JOINS PINEYWOODS PEDIATRICS

Certified Pediatric Nurse Practitioner Linda Chhay is a new provider for PineyWoods Pediatrics patients.

"Linda is an experienced and caring nurse practitioner with a heart for kids. We are happy to welcome her to our care team," Dr. Huggins said. "Linda provides patients a full range of primary, acute and specialty health care services that will extend the reach of our PineyWoods Pediatrics family."

Chhay is a graduate of The University of Texas at Austin where she earned both her Master of Science in Nursing and a Bachelor of Science in Family and Child Studies. Prior to joining the PWP care team, Linda worked as a nurse practitioner at a pediatric urgent care in Houston, and she was a nursing instructor at Angelina College.

Seeing her patients smile is what drives Chhay, who has always worked with kids. Before pursuing her career in pediatric medicine, she worked as an outdoor instructor and guide with Camp Fire through Del Valle ISD.

"Kids are just so resilient, even the really sick ones – they always find the positivity in life, and I think we can all just take a lesson from that," Chhay said.

Originally from Lufkin and a graduate of Lufkin High School, Chhay is happy to return home to East Texas with her two kids. In her free time, she enjoys yoga, visiting the farmers’ market, and running local trails.
