City of Nacogdoches Welcomes New City Manager Rick Beverlin
A new era of leadership for the City of Nacogdoches began this week with the arrival of new City Manager Rick Beverlin. Beverlin had previously served as City Manager for Leander, Texas, and will officially began his tenure with the City of Nacogdoches on November 2nd.
A Houston native, Beverlin served as City Manager of Leander since December 2019. Before that, he was Assistant City Manager in Galveston, where he oversaw development services, public transportation and grant management. He has also served as Economic Development Director in League City, City Administrator in Kemah and Senior Transportation Planner for the Houston-Galveston Area Council. Beverlin holds a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from the University of St. Thomas and Master of Public Administration from the University of Houston.
Interim City Manager Keith Kiplinger has led the City of Nacogdoches for the past eight months after the departure of former City Manager Mario Canizares. Mr. Kiplinger will step into an advisory role to ease the transition between himself and Beverlin.
