Shopping Safe this Holiday Season, Virtual Press Conference, November 13 at 2 pm
During the past five years, Texas residents have reported losing $17.5 million to scams, 21% due to online purchases. Often by impersonating reputable businesses, online purchase scams have been identified by Better Business Bureau (BBB) as the No. 1 riskiest scam encountered by North American consumers in both the 2021 and 2022 Scam Tracker Risk Report. As Texas residents prepare to take advantage of Black Friday, Cyber Monday, and other online promotions this holiday season, BBB aims to empower shoppers with the information they need to avoid scams.
Join BBB on Monday, Nov. 13 at 2 p.m. to hear from multiple BBB experts about the impact of online purchase scams on Texas residents in 2023, how to avoid impostors and counterfeit items, and tips for a safe, scam-free holiday shopping season.
