Fall Fitness in the Park
Join the Nacogdoches Recreation Division for its Fall Fitness in the Park programs all throughout the month of September, beginning on Thursday, September 5! Each Thursday in the month of September will feature a new workout class taking place at 6 p.m. in Pecan Park, including Zumba, Yoga, Tai Chi and Bodyweight Burn. Each class will last one hour and is completely free of charge, so take advantage of this fun and friendly way to get a workout in a beautiful Nacogdoches park!
Nac Historic Sites partner with the Stone Fort Museum to celebrate “El Camino Real Day”
Nacogdoches Historic Sites and the Stone Fort Museum are hosting two events celebrating El Camino Real de los Tejas. The inaugural El Camino Real Day is intended to celebrate the 20th anniversary of El Camino Real de los Tejas being designated as a National Historic Trail on October 18, 2004.
The first event, on Thursday, October 17 at 6 PM at the Durst-Taylor House (304 North St., Nacogdoches), will feature a discussion on the East Texas landscape and the challenges it posed to travelers on El Camino Real.
The second event, an El Camino Real Jamboree, will take place on Saturday, October 19 at the Stone Fort Museum on the SFA campus. From 10 AM to 2 PM, learn about making wild plum jelly and how to bake bread in a Dutch oven! At 2 PM, a preserved food contest will kick off an afternoon of music and makerspace activities.

Celebrate National Night Out with the City of Nacogdoches
As part of the annual “National Night Out” event that aims to foster a good relationship between local law enforcement and community members, the City of Nacogdoches will be hosting a large gathering complete with games, inflatables, free food and much more at the C.L Simon Recreation Center on October 1.
