Chamber leadership transition for 2024-2025
Posted 10/01/2024

October marks the beginning of a new Nacogdoches County Chamber’s fiscal year, and the changes we are experiencing include welcoming new directors and newly named officers.

First, we must express our gratitude to all who served on the 2023-2024 board of directors and on the Executive Committee. Vice Chair Rick Craig, The Daily Sentinel, and Vice Chair Ray Mitchum, Level Four Independent Agent, have retired along with directors Shannon Conklin, HCH Aviation; Pam Fitch, Spirit Outfitters; Emilie Hopson, Eaton; and Terrence Reeves, Concerned Black Men. All played important roles in their chamber work and leadership.

Continuing officers are Chaiman Dr. Ryan Head, Head Pediatrics; Chair Elect Olivia Kiritsy, Loblolly Properties; Treasurer Caroline Garner, Nacogdoches Area United Way; Vice Chair Tyrone Curl, DMC Marketing Group; and Vice Chair Darla O’Neill, Salvation Army. Continuing directors are Tarah Arreguin, Pilgrim’s Nacogdoches; Heath Badders, Badders Law Firm; Amelia Commander, East Texas Community Health Services; Case Opperman, City of Nacogdoches; Leigh Anne Carver, Nacogdoches Medical Center; Nolan Smith, Oncor Electric Delivery; and Dr. Gabriel Trujillo, Nacogdoches ISD.

New Executive Committee members include Vice Chair Katie Blevins and Vice Chair Dr. Jason Reese, both with Stephen F. Austin State University’s Nelson Rusche College of Business. The new additions to the board of directors are Corey Ashley, Cadence Bank; Robert Kratman, Eaton; Daniel Reid, Buchanan Wealth Management; Damon Ruckel, Ruckel Insurance & Financial Group; and Erin Windham, Nacogdoches ISD.

I can confidently state that with the accomplishments made by the chamber’s former leadership, this group will be able to hit the ground running as we tackle the goals and objectives set for the chamber’s mission: Creating an environment where business can succeed.

You are welcome to come alongside these leaders in a variety of ways. Meeting goals and executing successful programs are just not possible without the contributions of our talented, skilled and passionate volunteers. There is always room for more, so please consider getting involved. You may view more about our programs at www.Nacogdoches.org, or call the chamber office, 936-560-5533, for more information.

We look forward to a good and prosperous chamber year ahead!
