Wettermark Bank Building
The old Wettermark Bank Building/ Roma’s Italian Kitchen was selected as the winner in the renovation and restoration category for cities under 50,000 in the Texas Downtown Association’s President’s Awards Program. This recognition celebrates the building’s remarkable transformation after nearly 50 years of vacancy. Originally constructed in 1896 by architect Diedrich Rulfs as the Wettermark State Bank, the building at 124 E. Main St. has housed various businesses over the years, including barber shops and drug stores, before falling into disrepair. In 2022-2023, it underwent a major renovation led by Kim Crisp, and is now home to Roma’s Italian Kitchen. Congratulations to Crisp and his team for their hard work and determination to bring new life into this historic building!
