- Megan Mauro moderated a panel with TWC Chairman Bryan Daniel at the Fort Bend Chamber Legislative Day on education and workforce. Topics of conversation included childcare, reskilling and upskilling to match employer needs, and strengthening talent pipelines.
- TWC Chairman Bryan Daniel joined the TAB Education and Workforce Committee meeting last week. The committee and Chairman discussed ways employer can continue engage with the state to meet the growing needs of the workforce. The Chamber Advocacy Committee met last week as well.
- Gabriela Perdichizzi attended Plug and Play's annual tech summit as their guest, where they announced the launch of their new Aerospace & Defense program in partnership with Texas A&M. During the event, Gabriela connected with companies from around the world and shared insights on key topics such as nuclear energy, advanced manufacturing, artificial intelligence, and Texas’ growing innovation ecosystem.
- Julia Muzquiz spent last week in Washington, D.C., meeting with members of Congress alongside FWD.us to advocate for common-sense immigration policy. She participated in the 2024 U.S. Chamber of Commerce Institute for Legal Reform Summit, engaging with leaders on critical legal and regulatory issues.
- Megan Mauro presented to the Bastrop Chamber’s Leadership Day at the Capitol. Big thanks to President and CEO Becki Womble for the invitation for TAB to present an overview of top business priorities for the upcoming legislative session.
- Megan Mauro attended Chairman Giovanni Capriglione’s AI Stakeholder meeting on behalf of TAB and Tech Means Business. TAB will be heavily engaged with the Chairman’s stakeholder group and all conversation about AI and potential regulations proposed in Texas. Technology regulation impacts every business in every industry and Texas must continue to lead the way in innovation and pro-business policies that can become a national standard.
TAB hosted a webinar on the Lone Star Economic Alliance and its mission to address rising business costs, advocate for fair legal practices, and advance policies that strengthen Texas’ economy. For more info, click here.
